About the role

Macedon Ranges Shire Council is seeking to appoint a positive and solution-oriented individual to the role of Sports Club Liaison Officer. This important community-facing position works closely with local sports clubs, volunteers, and residents, often serving as the first point of contact for matters related to the use of Council’s sporting, recreational, and open space facilities. The role is essential in providing timely support and achieving positive outcomes for clubs and volunteers, playing a key part in the continued success of the Recreation team.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sport and recreation and the important role these activities play in supporting local communities. They will have well-developed oral and written communication skills, enabling them to resolve issues effectively when working with both internal teams and community members. The ability to build rapport and gain cooperation from community groups, the general public, and colleagues is essential. The successful applicant will be approachable and professional in handling enquiries, always aiming for positive and satisfactory outcomes. A team-oriented mindset is key to thriving in this collaborative environment.
