About the role

If you enjoy working in a fast paced, multi-disciplined team that works hard and has fun while getting the job done, then this is the team for you. The Local Laws Unit carries out investigations, education, and compliance activities that ensure safety and amenity across the Shire, which includes a good blend of animal management and welfare, littering, parking, and local law matters. Using a contemporary regulatory approach, you will provide information, assistance and advice to the community through the enforcement of Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws

The ideal candidate will bring strong investigative and enforcement skills, sound judgement, and the ability to adapt quickly in varied situations while maintaining professionalism. They will be a collaborative team player with a customer-focused mindset, resilience when dealing with challenging interactions, and a commitment to fostering safe, clean, and welcoming communities.

Macedon Ranges Shire is located in central Victoria, about an hour's drive north-west of Melbourne. Covering an area of around 1700 square kilometres, the shire is a semi-rural municipality known for its beautiful natural landscapes.
