About the role

Join a small and engaged team, where your expertise in industrial relations (IR) and human resources (HR) will shape meaningful workplace outcomes. This highly impactful role provides strategic advice to leaders on complex IR matters and workforce change initiatives and works closely with internal and external stakeholders (including legal and union representatives) to ensure fair, consistent and compliant employment practices are applied across Council.

You're a confident and collaborative HR professional who thrives on solving complex challenges and making a positive impact in the workplace. With a strong foundation in industrial relations, and the ability to navigate sensitive and complex situations with care, you bring clarity and confidence to problem solving conversations. You enjoy working both independently and part of a team, you value a flexible and person-centred environment where your wellbeing and professional growth are genuinely supported. Macedon Ranges Shire is located in central Victoria, about an hour's drive north-west of Melbourne. Covering an area of around 1700 square kilometres, the shire is a semi-rural municipality known for its beautiful natural landscapes.
