About the role

Join us with an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Senior Governance Officer to oversee and effectively lead a team to ensure Council’s information assets are managed effectively, securely and ethically - and to support effective governance and records management across Council. Play a pivotal role in assisting with compliance with the Public Records Office of Victoria (PROV) standards, the Victorian Electronic Records Strategy (VERS), and all legislative requirements. You will oversee the maintenance of the entire lifecycle of information, and lead the way in assessing, developing, and coordinating responses to a wide range of information governance matters via shared mailboxes and CRM platforms. You will possess strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and provide hands-on operational leadership. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals while championing best practices and innovative approaches in information governance.

About you

The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently while also providing support to team members in setting and managing priorities, taking into account constraints and broader impacts to ensure efficiency. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to liaise confidentially with staff and stakeholders on matters related to information management and governance. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in problem-solving and in identifying opportunities for improvement, aligned with the principles of Information Governance and Records Management. We are looking for someone who will contribute positively to fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and continuous development within the team.
