About the role
Make a meaningful impact on how Council communicates, connects and builds trust with our community. As the Senior Communications and Engagement Officer, you’ll play a leading role in shaping strategic communications and engagement initiatives that support Council priorities and major projects.
From developing organisation-wide campaigns and supporting media opportunities to navigating complex, sensitive and high-profile issues, no two days will be the same. You’ll provide trusted advice to senior leaders and stakeholders, helping ensure our community receives clear, timely and meaningful information while strengthening Council’s reputation and delivering positive outcomes.
About you
You’re a strategic, community-minded communications professional who enjoys being at the centre of the action. You can confidently move between strategic planning and hands-on delivery, with exceptional writing, stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
You’ll bring sound judgement, political awareness and a collaborative approach, along with the confidence to provide trusted advice when the stakes are high. With the ability to build strong relationships, manage competing priorities and influence stakeholders at all levels, you’ll thrive in a complex and fast-paced environment.

We support flexible working arrangements. This role is initially office-based for onboarding, with hybrid work available in the future once established in the role, subject to manager approval and operational needs.
