About the roles

Are you passionate about local history and creating memorable visitor experiences? Are you a recent graduate or emerging museum professional looking to gain hands-on experience in the museum and cultural heritage sector? The Macedon Ranges Shire Council is seeking friendly, motivated, and customer-focused people to join the team at the Kyneton Museum.

We have opportunities for Museum Attendants and a Museum Officer — ideal for those who love sharing stories, supporting the community, or building practical skills in museums and cultural heritage. You’ll help deliver engaging visitor experiences, care for the museum’s collection, and contribute to preserving and promoting the region’s rich history

About you

You’re passionate about history, culture, and community engagement, with strong communication and organisational skills. This role is perfect for recent graduates in museum studies, history, cultural heritage, or tourism who want to gain hands-on experience in a local government museum setting.

The ideal candidate is visitor-focused, delivering excellent customer service and creating memorable experiences for museum guests. You’re a self-starter with a proactive approach and the availability to work weekends.
