About the role

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity within Council to shape and enhance the delivery of Maternal and Child Health services for our local community. As the MCH Coordinator, you will lead a dedicated and dynamic team of MCH professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.

You will play a central role in strategic planning, service development, and the implementation of innovative, evidence-based practices to support families and children from birth to school age. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of high-quality, client-centered care that meets the diverse needs of our community, including vulnerable and at-risk populations. In this influential position, you will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and community organisations to strengthen early years support systems and contribute to Council’s broader public health and well-being objectives. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of families, while advancing Council’s long-term vision for inclusive, healthy, and thriving communities.

About you

We are seeking a highly motivated and visionary leader who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams within a health or community services context, along with exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills. You will be a confident and compassionate leader, capable of inspiring and guiding staff while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence. With a strategic and forward-thinking approach, you will ensure that Maternal and Child Health services are not only compliant with relevant legislation, policies, and professional standards but are also responsive to the changing needs of families and children in our community. Your ability to interpret data, identify emerging trends, and lead evidence-based initiatives will be critical in driving service development and improving health and wellbeing outcomes for local families.

This role also requires a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally safe practices. You will work closely with internal departments, government agencies, and community partners to build integrated, accessible, and sustainable MCH programs that reflect Council’s long-term vision and values.
