About the role

Join Macedon Ranges Shire Council’s Youth team and help create engaging, inclusive and welcoming opportunities for young people across the shire. As a Youth Activities Worker, you will support the delivery of youth events, workshops, holiday programs, youth spaces and community activities that encourage connection, participation and personal growth. This role plays an important part in helping young people build confidence, friendships, social connections and new skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Working collaboratively with the Youth team, community partners and other Council departments, you will contribute to programs and initiatives that promote positive wellbeing and meaningful youth engagement. You will also help foster accessible and inclusive spaces that celebrate diversity and encourage young people from all backgrounds to feel connected and valued within their community.

About you

You are energetic, approachable and passionate about supporting young people to thrive. You enjoy building positive relationships, encouraging participation and creating fun, engaging experiences that help young people feel confident, included and empowered.

The ideal candidate will bring strong communication and organisational skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a team, and a genuine commitment to creating safe, respectful and inclusive environments for all young people.

Macedon Ranges Shire is located in central Victoria, about an hour's drive north-west of Melbourne. Covering an area of around 1700 square kilometres, the shire is a semi-rural municipality known for its beautiful natural landscapes.
