Position No: 5042

About the role

This is a pivotal role within our Digital Technology Services team, responsible for driving the planning, coordination and delivery of IT projects and programs across Council. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business needs, identify improvement opportunities, and translate these into practical, well-managed initiatives.

You will lead the development and ongoing management of a structured, end-to-end IT project delivery framework aligned to best practice portfolio and project management (PPM) principles, and Council’s Project Delivery Framework, including Technology One PLM.

A key part of the role is ensuring strong governance and visibility of digital initiatives. You will coordinate the IT Steering Committee, manage reporting across the project portfolio, and provide clear, consistent updates on the delivery of the Digital Strategy.

You will also play a hands-on role in delivery, acting as lead Project Manager for complex programs of work, coordinating resources across the Digital Technology Services and Business Intelligence teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and aligned to strategic priorities.

About you

You are a strategic and organised project professional who thrives on bringing structure, clarity and momentum to complex environments. You have strong experience in project and portfolio management and are confident working across both strategy and delivery.

You are highly collaborative, with the ability to build strong relationships across a diverse organisation and translate business needs into practical digital solutions. You are equally comfortable operating at a governance level as you are rolling up your sleeves to lead projects day-to-day.
