About the role
Be the digital voice of Macedon Ranges Shire Council and help shape how our community connects with Council every day. As Digital Communications Officer, you’ll create and manage engaging content across our websites, social media, email, SMS and online engagement channels, making information easier to find, understand and act on.
You’ll bring ideas to life through digital campaigns, newsletters, social content, video, imagery and accessible online content, while using data and audience insights to continually improve how we communicate. You’ll also work closely with teams across Council, supporting digital projects, online consultations and campaigns that make a real difference to our community.
About you
You’re a creative digital communicator who knows what makes people stop, click, read and engage. You’ll bring strong web writing, content creation, social media and email marketing skills, along with an understanding of digital trends, usability and accessibility.
You’re curious, proactive and audience-focused, with the confidence to work with stakeholders across Council and the ability to turn complex information into clear, engaging digital content. You’ll enjoy working in a collaborative team, juggling competing priorities and using data and insights to make our digital channels even better. Experience with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards would be highly regarded.

We support flexible working arrangements. This role is initially office-based for onboarding, with hybrid work available in the future once established in the role, subject to manager approval and operational needs.
