About the role

As the Business Support Officer, you’ll play a key role in keeping everything running smoothly across the department. You’ll act as the vital link between management and officer-level staff, ensuring communication flows effortlessly and priorities are well-coordinated. Some days will follow a steady routine — supporting ongoing tasks, managing coordination, and maintaining effective processes. Other days will bring new challenges, from handling ad hoc requests to finding creative solutions that help the department achieve its goals. 

About you

We’re looking for someone who’s a fast learner, tech-savvy, and adaptable in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate brings a positive attitude, a good sense of humour, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Known for being solution-minded and a collaborative team player, you’ll have proven experience working effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders. If you enjoy balancing structure with variety and take pride in keeping things organised, connected, and moving forward, this is the role for you.

Macedon Ranges Shire is located in central Victoria, about an hour's drive north-west of Melbourne. Covering an area of around 1700 square kilometres, the shire is a semi-rural municipality known for its beautiful natural landscapes.
