About the role

The Emergency Management Officer plays a key role in strengthening planning, preparedness, response and recovery by driving compliance, planning and strong partnerships across the municipal emergency management landscape. 

About you

You are a flexible and collaborative team player who thrives on building strong relationships and contributing positively within a team, with the ability to shift priorities as needed in a changing environment. You bring high-level communication and reporting skills and a genuine desire to learn and develop in the role. Existing relationships with emergency services and support agencies in the municipality or region will be viewed favourably but is not required

We support flexible working arrangements. This role is initially office-based for onboarding, with hybrid work available in the future once established in the role, subject to manager approval and operational needs.

Macedon Ranges Shire is located in central Victoria, about an hour's drive north-west of Melbourne. Covering an area of around 1700 square kilometres, the shire is a semi-rural municipality known for its beautiful natural landscapes.
