About the role

Play a key role in strengthening Council's emergency management capability, resilience and recovery arrangements. This diverse and rewarding position leads and supports a broad range of initiatives including disaster recovery funding and grant programs, organisational preparedness, stakeholder engagement, staff capability development, continuous improvement and emergency response coordination, helping Council meet its responsibilities before, during and after emergencies. Please note: While this role sits within the Emergency Management and Recovery team, it is primarily an emergency management and organisational resilience role. It is not responsible for delivering community recovery programs, case management or direct support services to affected community members

About you

We are seeking an adaptable and forward-thinking professional who can build strong relationships, drive outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring excellent project coordination, stakeholder engagement and analytical skills, along with a strategic mindset, strong attention to detail and a proven ability to develop and implement effective processes, procedures and systems that support organisational resilience and emergency recovery outcomes. Previous experience with Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements is highly regarded, but not essential. Support and training will be provided to develop capability in this area.

We support flexible working arrangements. This role is initially office-based for onboarding, with hybrid work available in the future once established in the role, subject to manager approval and operational needs.
