About the role
Provide high-level strategic support to the Coordinator Governance to ensure Council’s compliance with its statutory obligations relevant to the Governance function. You will play a key role in assisting with governance processes, managing and reviewing policies, monitoring compliance, and providing advice and guidance to support transparent, accountable decision-making. This role involves supporting the implementation and maintenance of effective governance frameworks and practices, assisting in the development, review, and management of Council policies, procedures, and delegations, providing advice to staff and leadership on governance matters, preparing reports and documentation for Council and committees, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen governance practices across the organisation.

You are a detail-oriented, proactive professional with a strong understanding of governance frameworks and statutory obligations. You have excellent communication skills, can provide clear and practical advice, and thrive in supporting organisational compliance and accountability. Your ability to build strong working relationships and work collaboratively across teams will ensure that governance processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with best practice.
