About the role

Join a collaborative team where you'll help shape how Council communicates with its community, stakeholders and the media. Through a mix of proactive and responsive communications, you'll play an important role in building trust, supporting community engagement and strengthening Council's reputation as a valued community organisation.

About you

You're a strong communicator who can turn complex information into clear, engaging content for a range of audiences and channels. Highly organised and adaptable, you're comfortable managing competing priorities, working independently when needed and collaborating with others to deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

We support flexible working arrangements. This role is initially office-based for onboarding, with hybrid work available in the future once established in the role, subject to manager approval and operational needs.

Macedon Ranges Shire is located in central Victoria, about an hour's drive north-west of Melbourne. Covering an area of around 1700 square kilometres, the shire is a semi-rural municipality known for its beautiful natural landscapes. The shire has an estimated population of around 51,500 people and resides on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples.
