About the role

This role coordinates and manages Council’s end‑-to‑-end procurement and tendering processes, ensuring compliance with legislation, probity requirements, and Council policies. It provides specialist advice across the organisation and oversees the preparation, evaluation, and administration of contracts to support effective service delivery and risk management. The position also contributes to continuous improvement by maintaining systems, reporting, and enhancing procurement practices across Council. 

About you

The candidate brings strong experience in providing specialist procurement and contract governance advice within complex regulatory environments, demonstrating sound judgement, effective probity management, and a commitment to compliance and continuous improvement. They are skilled in developing contract specifications with clear performance measures and have proven experience overseeing contractors and suppliers while meeting tight deadlines. Supported by well-developed communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft and other systems, the candidate effectively coordinates processes and delivers high-quality outcomes.

We support flexible working arrangements. This role is initially office-based for onboarding, with hybrid work available in the future once established in the role, subject to manager approval and operational needs.

Macedon Ranges Shire is located in central Victoria, about an hour's drive north-west of Melbourne. Covering an area of around 1700 square kilometres, the shire is a semi-rural municipality known for its beautiful natural landscapes.
